My research focuses on the effects of environmental change on coral reef ecosystems, with a particular interest in metabolic responses as indicators of physiological performance in corals and related coral reef organisms, employing both in-situ and ex-situ experimental approaches. This understanding is crucial for assessing coral reef functionality and predicting resilience under climate change stressors. Previously, I worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at INVEMAR and Universidad de los Andes (Colombia) where I focused on applying innovative technologies to help coral reef restoration and quantifying carbon fluxes to understand climate change effects in corals and associates. Currently, as a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Connolly Lab, my research centers on experimentally evaluating the thermal performance and resilience of Pocillopora species from Tropical East Pacific coral reefs. I earned my PhD from Temple University (Philadelphia, USA), and Master of Science and undergraduate degrees from Universidad de los Andes and Universidad Jorge Tadeo Lozano (Bogota, Colombia), respectively.
