At a STRI Installation<\/h2>\n

  1. Know STRI’s Emergency Numbers (212-8911 or 212-8211).<\/strong><\/li>\n
  2. Show your valid STRI ID to enter the STRI Installation. Make sure unauthorized persons do not follow you into STRI buildings.<\/li>\n
  3. Report the presence of unauthorized persons, or persons without a STRI ID, or a Visitor pass to a security representative by calling 212-8011 or 212-8025.<\/li>\n
  4. Wear the STRI ID at all times while in the STRI Installation. Do not lend your STRI ID to others.<\/li>\n
  5. Store valuables and personal belongings in secure places. STRI is not responsible for lost or stolen items.<\/li>\n
  6. Lock your office and\/or lab door when leaving for any period of time.<\/li>\n
  7. Allow the guards to check your packages and bags, if so instructed.<\/li>\n
  8. If you feel your security is in jeopardy, report it immediately to STRI emergency numbers 212-8911 or 212-8211.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n

    Away from STRI Installations<\/h2>\n

    1. Know STRI’s Emergency Numbers (212-8911 or 212-8211)<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
    2. Consult STRI’s Security Office (212-8025) and ask them about the places you plan to visit and the safest routes to take.<\/li>\n
    3. For field expeditions use STRI’s web-based Field Trip Registration App<\/a>.<\/li>\n
    4. For recreational\/social outings, try to go in a group. Inform someone of your plans and estimated time of return.<\/li>\n
    5. Carry your STRI ID and your passport or copy of your passport including the page with the entry stamp.<\/li>\n
    6. Do not carry large sums of money. Take only what you need for taxis, meals, etc. Limit the number of credit cards you carry.<\/li>\n
    7. When calling a taxi, ask the dispatcher to provide you with the number of the unit assigned to you. Verify that the number matches before boarding. Do not take a taxi, if the license plate number is not written on the doors.<\/li>\n
    8. If you drive a car, plan your route in advance, use familiar roads, take a good map, and stay aware of your location at all times.<\/li>\n
    9. If you are involved in a collision, report the accident to STRI-OPS Control Room (212-8911\/8211). If you feel that your security\/safety could be compromised, do not get out of your vehicle and consider driving to a more secure public area.<\/li>\n
    10. If no one is severely injured, and the vehicle can be moved, Panamanian law requires the drivers to clear the road and fill out the “Formato \u00danico y Definitivo para Colisiones menores ” that should be in the gloves compartment of all STRI vehicles.<\/li>\n
