What do Sharks eat?

All sharks are carnivorous! However, not all are ferocious predators. Sharks’ diet varies from plankton to crustaceans, and fish, to mammals, birds, and even other sharks. The belief that sharks eat humans is more of a myth than a reality. Humans do not really represent an appetizing prey animal to sharks. Shark species that do eat big prey prefer more grease and meat, such as found in seals. In fact, the largest shark in world, the whale shark, eats plankton exclusively!
